RazzleDazzle is a return to this bygone era. It’s a spa treatment for guys, from an age before anybody had heard of spas. A place where men can experience the lost art of the hot lather shave, traditional haircuts, hand and foot care, massages and shoe shines. But without the worry of being rubbed out by a rival crime family.
Gagit has rated Hotels and Restaurants of note in the past but never a Barbershop,Razzledazzle deserves the honor of being the first and only deserving this distinction. The owner Elena Linares,a barbershop veteran, mother, and immigrant from the Dominican Republic in 1966 is the creater, founder, and owner of this one of the kind Barbershop in Coral Gables. She and her sister Esmerelda make this place work like a 1940′s barbershop should and offers haircutting, shaving, and massage , only from shoulder up ,the way it was done in the 40′s.
I walk into the Barbershop and I am transformed back into the 40,s in New York, greeted by the lovely Esmerelda and given my choice of barber for my $15.00 haircut and my $29.00 shave. It is a hard choice, Julio ,pictured above the master barber from Cuba, ,or Elena, also pictured,is there really a choice?I am to have a seat in the Kings chair , pictured as I wait for Elena.
It is now my turn and I get in the barber chair and am offered a healthly glass of white sugar, pictured,. I first get the haircut as Elena goes to work on my meticulous razorcut and all for $15.00. She finishes with a florish, neck shave, eyebrow trim and am now ready for the professional shave that she is preparing for. She comes around to me the hot towels soaked in herbal treatment to begin the process. She then lubricates my face . puts the warm shaving cream on my face, and begins the straight edge razor shave. She is done , perfectly smooth no damages, lol, and ends with another hot towel , finished off with after shave, hair spray, and neck powder,
Let the Truth be Told, there are many places to get a haircut and shave in Coral Gables, and there is Razzledazzle, again there is no choice.
Plus One: If you don’t know where it is, you won’t get there.
Plus Two: When you get there, you won’t wanna leave.
Plus Three: After you do leave, you will feel like a million smackeroos!
The place is called RazzleDazzle. Officially, it’s a barber shop. But unless you somehow teletransported outta the refined past of haberdashers and boot blacks, it’s unlike any barber shop you’ve ever been to. I’m talkin’ swank, dig? And I’m talkin’ the kinda attention to detail heretofore generally given to dames. Located down a plaza corridor on picturesque Miracle Mile in good ol’ Coral Gables, RazzleDazzle is just the joint to hit if you’re looking for a keen cut, close shave and a swift shine. Of course, you should also be the kinda cat who’s inclined to swing in gentlemen’s clubs and prefer stirred martinis. Just as you’d probably be better off if you’ve got a way with the ladies.
Why? ‘Cause this joint is run by two of the hippest chicks in town, that’s why. I mean Esmeralda and Elena Linares. And that means only players need apply. Of course, I hyperbolize. Hell, you could be on a year-long dating wait and still leave RazzleDazzle with a spring in your step. And you know that dames dig a confident cat. Well, one trip to this groomer and you’ll have ‘em purring in your backseat.
And get this! Your wallet won’t even feel it. That’s right, RazzleDazzle is utterly reasonable: $15 & $30 for the cuts; $12 & $24 for the shaves; $5 and $10 for the shines. They also provide hand care, foot care, and a scalp, neck and shoulder massage that’ll only run you a buck a minute. Not that you could put a price on the Mack Daddy way the Lenares dames make you feel; just as you can’t buy cool. But you sure as hell can try. So, pony-up boys and pamper your bad self. Hell, you’re worth it – aren’t you?

This past month, my CEO Workday (Chamber Educational Outreach Workday) took place at a new business along Miracle Mile, RazzleDazzle Barbershop. Nestled gently in one of the paseos in the 200 block of Miracle Mile, this speak-easy style barbershop is anything but quiet, and yet, everything quaint.
The owner, Elena Linares, is a sparkplug of energy, creativity and delightful pizzazz. She puts the fire in the screaming red walls laced with green ivy and trimmed with gorgeous fresh-cut roses. When you enter, you step back in time – when getting a haircut was an experience, not an errand.
You are greeted by a customer-service savvy staff dressed in a traditional style evocative of the 1940’s. There are numerous stations, including a high-backed chair fit for a king (in need of a shoe shine). Remember, this is for men only (and boys, too)…but ladies, pick up a gift certificate for the gent in your life.
(CBS4) ― A new and affordable way to keep the men in your life looking and feeling good is available in South Florida . CBS4 News was at the opening of a new kind of barbershop, where you can get much more than just a haircut. It's called RazzleDazzle: a new barbershop with an old-time feel.
"So what are you getting done today," CBS4's Jorge Estevez asked one of the men in a barber's chair. "A shave today," responded the client. RazzleDazzle offers shaves, massages, hand and foot treatments and of course, a haircut.
"You feel like a king every time you come here," said Michael Aguilera. This old-fashioned place is crowning kings, not with crowns, but with lather. "There is a dire need for what I am doing right now," owner Elena Linares explained. She just opened RazzleDazzle on Miracle Mile, and her story is more than a miracle. "I was homeless and at a shelter with my single son." She arrived in Miami 25 years ago with nothing.
Last week, my boyfriend called me while I was at work and this is how it went… BF: “Babe, I just had the best hour and a half hot lather shave at this place called RAZZLEDAZZLE. It was heaven, and you have to blog about it.” Me: “Ok hunny, can I call you back in a few minutes?” BF: “What! I’m calling about something hair related. Why don’t you care!?” This Coral Gables, FL barbershop has all my man-friends excited to get pampered! Men can choose from a variety of services including hot lather shaves, haircuts, massages, and shoe shine. Owner Elena Linares brings a vision of a 1940’s New York classic barbershop to RAZZLEDAZZLE. Customers can enjoy the flat screen TV’s playing old time favorite movies or sports. Finally, men can understand why a day at the spa is the best treat ever for us gals! If you live in the area, you can visit the shop at 224 Miracle Mile in Coral Gables, FL. Their website is under construction, so to get more info give Elena or Esmeralda a call at 305-461-4666.
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (WSVN) -- One of Channel Seven's own helped unveil a calendar at a South Florida barbershop that will benefit women and children.
Diana Diaz stopped by the RazzleDazzle 1940s-style barber shop Wednesday night for the release of their pin-up calendar. The private cocktail reception was sponsored by John Martin's Irish Pub & Restaurant and Johnnie Walker Black.
A generous 25 percent of the proceeds will go to shelters for Women and Children of Domestic Violence.
The barber shop was featured on Help Me Howard because of a dispute with the city for placing a traditional barber pole outside the storefront.
A shot of liquor sits aside a crystal goblet in a chandelier-lit room of crimson walls, gold-plated mirrors and ebony furniture. Women in red and black corsets and tuxedo-clad men cater to a male clientele that has come to this Miracle Mile location for a haircut.
``It's all about the pampering,'' said Elena Linares, who opened her RazzleDazzle Barbershop in January 2009. ``It's the total experience and a really classy service.''
